Integrated Compass

Based on modern MEMS technology - The Compass is a magnetic multishot instrument for borehole surveying based on modern MEMS technology. It is fully integrated in its own brass running gear, requiring little set-up in the field. Wireless in operation, the tool utilizes infrared communication with a rugged handheld field computer. Compass is powered by standard C battery cells and will operate for more than 100 hours on seven batteriesisCompass specifications - The tool outputs standard survey data, such as recorded station depth, inclination, azimuth, gravity highside, magnetic toolface, temperature and more. The magnetometers have been calibrated with high precision and the tool will deliver a reading of the magnitude of the local magnetic field which can be used to detect anomalies in the local Earth magnetic field to identify survey stations of low quality. Local magnetic declination and start coordinates can also be set directly in the handheld unit. The OD of the fully-integrated running gear is 35 mm and the system is supplied with three aluminum extension rods to allow the operator to get the gear through and away from the drill bit.

BlastGyro™

The BlastGyro™ is a unique survey system designed for efficient surveying of production blastholes. At the heart of the system is the world's smallest survey gyro - the SlimGyro™ - and its light weight and compact running gear. The length of the mounted gyro and running gear is 138 cm, with an outer diameter of only 26 mm and a total tool string weight of 4.5 kg.Light Weight- The compact size of the system makes it safe and easy to manually run in and out of blastholes using a feeder reel fitted with 50 meters of 11 mm fiberglass rod. The BlastGyro™ can survey at all angles and the fiberglass rod assures it can be moved up, down and horizontally.

Non-integrated North Finder

True MEMS gyro compass - The NorthFinder is based on MEMS gyro sensors which gives a rugged survey system in a 32 mm housing. The NorthFinder takes independent readings at survey stations, giving the gyro toolface and azimuth and also provides inclination as well as gravity highside. The main purpose of the NorthFinder is to serve as an independent reference together with the StandardGyrofor deep vertical boreholes.Low power technology- The NorthFinder has a very low power consumption due to being based on MEMS sensors, consuming as little as 1 W of power. This is especially useful when running the instrument in a heat shield as it vastly improves the downhole time, generating very little heat compared to competing systems.Fast WiFi transfer- The gyro compass and accelerometer data are transferred to the field computer using WiFi which ensures very fast data transfer. The transfer time is less than a minute even for large surveys. The NorthFinder survey software is easy to use and install. The survey software runs on multiple Windows platforms including XP, 7, 8, 10 on both 32 and 64-bit systems.
